Julie Smith, Director of Development for the Franciscan Health Foundation of Western Indiana, joined Tricia’s Hope’s Board after being inspired by Tricia’s compassion and her own personal ties to cancer patients. She currently serves as a Board Member for Tricia’s Hope and has spent more than 25 years in non-profit fundraising in Indiana, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. Some organizations Julie has worked for/volunteered for include: Purdue Convocations; The Tippecanoe County Historical Association; Tippecanoe Arts Federation; Komen Race for the Cure; Theatre on the Square; American Cancer Society; Purdue School of Nursing, University of Rochester, American Heart Association; JDRF; CARE Walk to support Breast Cancer Survivors; and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
“I’ve had the pleasure to get to know Tricia in the last two years, first as a fellow mom of a grade schooler and then as a friend. Her loving nature and deep care of people around her always impressed me and when I learned about Tricia’s Hope, I just knew I needed to be a part of such an amazing, caring organization. While I am not a survivor, a few of my close friends and family are, and I’ve lost a number of my nearest and dearest to cancer as well. Because of that, I am honored to serve as a board member of Tricia’s Hope.”
